Follow these steps if you suspect that you have an emergency water leak:
If the pipe to the burst pipe has an isolation tap – Turn it OFF.
Or you do not know where this may be then turn OFF the cold water supply to your home. (Usually located at the front of the property)
Turn ON the front hose tap to drain the water out of the water line.
Turn OFF the power to the hot water system.

If the reading has changed, then you most likely have a water leak.
